Epi is South Central Health District’s NEWEST and YOUNGEST member of the team!
She’s ready to learn and explore the world of Public Health with her community. She’s our ‘Disease Detective’ working to help educate and protect!
Epi will come along for many lessons with the SCHD crew and share what she learns.
Epidemiology is the study of why and how often diseases occur in different groups of people. An epidemiologist is a scientist who studies the causes, spread, and outbreak of diseases.
Epi is excited to learn about the world of public health and all the amazing ways to prevent illness!
Epi visited the Southington Farmer's Market in August 2024! She wished all students a HEALTHY school year providing lunch boxes filled goodies to help make that happen!
Epi visited with kids in the community to provide a fun dance-along exercise activity AND hand out back-to-school lunch bags.
South Central Health District received funding provided by a grant from the KAWFY Memorial Fund at the Main Street Community Foundation. This grant will be used for Materials and Training to conduct Community Life Saving Classes for Plainville and Southington. We are grateful for this partnership, funding & the opportunity to provide this life saving education.
Epi can't wait to share ways to save a life with her community!
Stay tuned for training dates!
